Skydance Paramount Plans to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to begin significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles within a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August with a value of $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance planning to reveal complete information in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news suggested the firm aimed to cut between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, the company had nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 contract workers.

The company has not yet commented to a request for comment.
