Marvel Rivals Unabashedly Unveils its Latest Lady Loki Outfit
While some may label Marvel Rivals as an imitation of Overwatch, developer NetEase earns credit for discovering creative ways to engage its unabashedly thirsty audience. Introducing Lady Loki, a brand-new outfit for the existing Strategist hero Loki, providing players a faithful to the comics version of the Norse deity.
Not Hela, But Loki
Contrary to earlier predictions and fears, the highly anticipated Lady Loki costume is definitely not a skin for Hela. Instead, it is a complete visual overhaul of Loki himself, complete with new voice lines. Based on the official preview, Lady Loki keeps the full suite of Loki's core powers: his projectile attack, his trickery skill, and his clone ability. The sole difference is her striking new look, tailored to appeal to an audience more than ready to spend their in-game currency.
Hearing and Seeing Lady Loki
Here is a look at Lady Loki on the battlefield, accompanied by a taste of her VO, performed by voice actor Abby Trott. Notably Trott is also the voice behind Magik in Marvel Rivals.
The character's dialogue and onscreen presence bring a fresh energy to the familiar kit.
A Gateway to Future Skins
Now that NetEase has broken the seal with this gender-bent skin for Loki, the Marvel Rivals community is busy speculating about future possibilities. Popular ideas currently include:
- Gwenpool as the upcoming Deadpool.
- Jane Foster as Thor.
- Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman.
The big question remains: Does NetEase have the courage to introduce less mainstream alternate versions, such as former hero Sharon Ventura as She-Thing? That will probably hinge on fan demand!
